- Introduction summer 2025
The Austral was only introduced in 2022 as the successor to the Kadjar, and now the model update is pending. After all, the fierce competition in the C-SUVs with VW Tiguan, Hyundai Tucson, Kia Sportage and more is a difficult place to convince customers.

Renault Austral Facelift 2025: Exterior design
The redesign of the Austral was mainly done as an adaptation to Renault's new design language. Accordingly, the bonnet, bumper and radiator grille have been redesigned and now show similarities to the Rafale and the Espace.

The new light design also stands out and brings a breath of fresh air to the design of the SUV. The daytime running lights are now arranged under the headlights and the overall package is now strongly reminiscent of the Rafale.

There were no real changes on the sides, but new black stripes to protect against stone chips on the rear fenders provide a somewhat sportier appearance.

The rear lights are also clearly based on the Rafale, in addition to this change, new design lines have been added to the trunk lid to sharpen the look of the Austral a bit.
Renault is also introducing 2 new paint finishes for the facelift: South Sea Blue and Mother-of-Pearl White Satin. From the Techno equipment line, customers can also opt for a two-tone paint job with a black roof.
Renault Austral Facelift 2025: Powertrains and Handling
There are no major changes to the powertrains in the facelift. However, new shock absorbers have been installed for the handling, which are intended to improve driving comfort, and the all-wheel steering has also been improved. So the choice remains between mild hybrid with 158 hp or full hybrid with just under 200 hp system output.

Renault Austral Facelift 2025: Interior and infotainment
The interior doesn't change too much in the design, as the Austral already has the Renault OpenR cockpit. New on board, however, is the new driver recognition system, which uses a camera in the A-pillar to detect the driver when boarding. After that, the new Austral directly unloads the personal settings: Preferred radio stations or audio sources, exterior mirror positions, seat positions and more are then set directly.

Renault has also worked on sound isolation, so that less driving noise should now reach the interior. In addition, there is a small update to the latest technology in the infotainment. Renault's OpenR system works with integrated Google services and can now provide more flexible route planning with stopovers and other functions known from Google Maps.
Renault Austral Facelift 2025: Sales launch and price
The facelift is now available for pre-order and the first vehicles are scheduled to go to customers and dealers in the summer of 2025.

In terms of price, the facelift is slightly more expensive with a list price of € 34,700. The previous model was still available from € 34,250. Despite the slight increase, the price is still very fair. The revised Austral starts with three different trim levels: Evolution, Techno and Espirit Alpine.
